Hello and welcome to the first post of the weekly series ‘Upcycled Thursdays’. Good ol’ Wikipedia says upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials. Basically, it’s turning something you don’t want into something you do want. First item on the agenda: this dress…
Darling dress. Horrible fit. Too big in the bust area, fits well from the waist down. Solution: turn it into a skirt! If you can hem a skirt, you can copy this project. I cut the top part of the dress, leaving excess fabric to fold over, and hemmed the top the same way you would hem a skirt.
Ialso added a flower I made from an old t-shirt for a pop of color. I have that tutorial coming next week! Super easy, and spruces up any boring outfit.
Check back on Thursdays for more ideas of what to do with your old clothes! If you ever want help for something you have laying around, shoot me an email: LazySaturdayDesigns@gmail.com.
The necklace I’m wearing used to be my mom’s. She rocked it hard in the 80’s. I added it in honor of Mother’s Day this Sunday. Happy Mother’s Day Mom! I’ll probably have to wish her in person. She doesn’t read this blog. Not that she doesn’t want to. She’s my biggest fan after Mason. She just doesn’t know how to use the internet. Bless her heart. I have the best mom. No contest.
