Denim on denim.
Add a feminine twist to men’s wear with color.
Blouse, sweater and flats.
Dress ‘em up for a date or girl’s night out.
I’m in love with the colored jeans trend right now. The only problem: I have yet to find a pair I can afford.
Inspired by Everybody Everywear’s September challenge, I decided to make my own pair.
To alter my jeans in to skinnies, I followed this tutorial from Cotton & Curls.
Then I bathed them in Rit dye. {I used the Rit Red-Violet #140 mixture}
And viola! Purple pants!
Next endeavor: Red pants. And then some green ones.
My pants will never be the same.

Love your purple denim! Especially love the outfit with the green top
In a sea of red pants, your purple ones stood out. They are fantastic and I love that you refashioned them, both in the hem and the color!
I think outfit 3 is my favorite!
Thanks for joining us this month at EBEW!
Love the different ways you've worn it!
Found your blog through EBEW!

Great idea… They look FAB!!! I also love howyou showed 4 ways to ROCK your colored denim. New follower here, found you via EBEW!! So fun!!!!
I'm a huge fan of thrifting & sale shopping, so I scored all my colored pants for $20 and under!
I love that you're rocking DIY colored denim. And in my favorite color.

WOW. You did an amazing job! I definitely need to try out this dye sometime! I am wanting some colored pants…red, blue, green…oh yes!
I love the purple! I like how the denim texture showed through with the distressing that was originally on the jeans! Makes them stand out from the rest!
Holy cow. All 4 looks are amazing, and the finish you got with the dye is just GORGEOUS! I love the continued accents of kelly green, which look great with the purple (and on redheads like us). I discovered you through EBEW, but I'm wearing red pants today! Stop by and say hi if you have a sec.
So stylish! I love all the looks, you're gorgeous K!:)

good thing I check your blog because I had no idea colored jeans were in. Thanks for keeping us new moms that don't leave the house much in the fashion loop
hey. you should make a post about what is in style for this fall and winter. I know i would appreciate it.:)
they look awesome!!Would love a pair of colored pants, but it is so hard to find a pair in my length so changing the color of one of mine was not an option. Finding a colored one is going to be another challenge!
This is such a great idea. I have the same problem you do, and have yet to find colored pants that are actually flattering and I can afford. Will definitely be trying this soon. Thanks for the inspiration

Wow. I am so impressed with you right now! I love that you made these skinny and also dyed them. It's just brilliant. I also really love that first look. I will definitely be copying that next time I wear my colored skinnies!
I am loving every outfit with the jeans, so cute. What a great colour too, can't believe you dyed them yourself, when ever I dye stuff it streaks

Wow, aren't you awesome for dying a pair of pants for the party? I really love these violet pants, and the way you've styled them 4 ways for our viewing pleasure. The first look is my favorite because I love that colorful belt, but the second one is a very close second. Great style my dear!

I wish I had kept all of the beautiful colored jeans I had during the 70's. Even though I am 59 years old I still look quite good in jeans. I cannot believe the amount of money they want for them now.. Great dye tip….love the stocking and sox tips. Thanks!!!
You are awesome! Girl, I am in love with my green & black skinnies. I didn’t ever think to dye just plain denim jeans. But, you’re right! Urban is too expensive! I am dying for some mint & pink. I think I’ll hit some thrifts to see what I can find to mix with some Rit. Serioulsy, I think I have a style crush on you Krista
You’re so cute Beth! Seriously, Rit dye is my favorite thing in the world!
The pants are adorable. The outfits are adorable. Your hair is adorable.
