Lazy Saturdays

let’s talk about patterns

IMG_9107IMG_9045IMG_9071Oh dearest readers, thank you so much for listening to me ramble about life’s adjustments. Here I go again. But this time, there’s some meat in this rambling, especially for all you sewers. Over the past couple months I’ve been setting some Lazy Saturdays goals and trying to figure out how I was going to accomplish them while trying to be an awesome full-time momma. Then I read this post by Madalynne about tips for sewing bloggers. And the first two tips really hit me; it’s okay not to post on a blog because you’re working on something great! After thinking about my goals, this blog, and balancing life, I’ve decided to put something that’s been on the back burner for too long in motion. I’m finally working on my handbag patterns! So with that said, I’m still going to be blogging, but I’m limiting myself to two posts a week. By limiting myself, it gives me the time to create great content for this blog, time to work on my patterns, and most importantly, time with my family. And now that I’ve announced that I’m working on my patterns, I’ll eventually be sending a call out for pattern testers. If you’re interested, email me at lazysaturdaydesigns@gmail.com and I’ll put you first on the list for when that fun time comes! The first pattern I’m working on is for the bag I’m holding in these pictures. It’s my all time favorite! I’m also working on patterns that you will be able to download for free! I’ve been cryptically saying fun things are going to be happening around here, and this is just the beginning of it!

Now that we’ve talked about my bag, let’s talk about my dress. eShakti has been working with me for as long as I’ve been blogging it seems. I’ve always loved that their clothes can be custom made to fit the petite gal and the curvy lady.  Normally when I’d pick something in the past, I’d order the generic size, but when they pitched their spring line to me, I decided to see if their custom sizing was really all they claim it is. Because I still have my differently proportioned, after-baby, breast-feeding body, I was really curious to see how my dress would fit. I have to say now, their custom sizing is awesome. My dress fits perfectly! Well done, eShakti. Well done.

eShakti is offering Lazy Saturdays readers 20% off their order with the coupon code LZYSTRDYS thru March 20th. Perfect timing for a new Easter dress!

Hat from Urban Outfitters, bag made by me, tights by Hue, boots by Klub Nico. Dress provided by eShakti, but my comments are entirely my own.

Way to go momma with making goals and stickin with them! I just read your “ramble” post and just had to tell you I know exactly how you feel! My little baby just turned six months and only now do I feel like I have the brain space to even consider being creative. It’s all about the balance isn’t it?
